Hi! I am sooo excited about the news of an upcoming Spring mini catalogue! Ooh, just can’t wait to get my hands on some of those stamp sets!! In all my excitement I wanted to make a card and I chose my June COM Regal Rose to make a last farewell for the month along with Certainly Celery and Whisper White – very ’spring-y’ colours I thought!

Of course you can see my Baroque Motifs set featured again and I really wanted a stamp that said Spring, but I made do with a Warm Words stamp instead. Now, I have also been playing with my Slit Punch again. I discovered that it is just the right width for the wide grosgrain ribbon, so I had to show you all that of course! I added a Certainly Celery brad as well.
Stay tuned for some mini catalogue samples soon and if you would like to have your very own copy of the mini catalogue, please email me at karigail@internode.on.net with your details and I’ll send one out as soon as they arrive!

Well, you’ve just seen a pic of my ‘baby’ with his missing teeth, here he is in a photo at 2 weeks of age! I posted this photo a couple of weeks ago, but wanted to share my finished layout for a 6×6 page swap some of the Inklings took part in. All the pages were gorgeous and they featured our babies quite prominently – of the 2 and 4 legged varieties !!

Here I have used Kraft and Chocolate chip card and Chocolate Chip ink with the Bundle of Joy stamp set. On the little pull out tag I stamped the announcement stamp from the set so all his details could be filled in – I needed a Choc Chip marker for that, so it’s blank ATM. I used my fantabulous Crop-a-diel to set the jumbo eyelet and then a little bit of chocolate chip ribbon to finish off.
Thanks for visiting and also for the well wishes for Aidan – he surprisingly seems to have a bigger appetite than normal at the moment, but I think it is due to the fact that he wants to play with the way the food feels in his mouth without that tooth there! Oh well! At least he’s happy!

Some of you may know that my son had to have 2 teeth pulled earlier this year – one was a extra one and the other was kind of attached to it, but unfortunately both had decayed due to the way they were up against each other. So he has had a gap in the upper right side of his mouth since he was 23 months old (now 26mths). Well, on Wednesday when we got him home from childcare and were changing him, we realised that he had chipped his front tooth (the one next to the gap) – and not just a little chip either!!
So long story short he went to the dentist on Thursday morning and they arranged for him to have the tooth pulled that afternoon as they weren’t able to repair it! Check out the gap in my brave boy’s mouth….

This was taken only a couple of hours after he had it pulled so you can see how upset he was – NOT! He did have to have a GA and that’s never nice, but he was so good before, during and after and I think the worst part for him was fasting all day and he is not a big eater, so to hear him ask for toast or apples he must have really been hungry! His adult teeth won’t come in until around age 6-8 so he has a few years ahead of him with that gap there, however the bonus is that he was happy with 20 cents from the tooth fairy!! That whole concept is lost on a 2 year old!!
I will be back tomorrow with some cards – sorry I haven’t been posting my actual creations this week! ‘Night! K

I thought I’d share my storage system with you all tonight! Well, it’s not so much of a system as a place to keep my craft stash, but it looked tidy for the picture!! One of these trolleys was a Mother’s Day pressie to me a month or so back and I loved it so much I filled it up
so of course when I saw them on sale again at Kmart this last week I had to get another! They are really handy (drawers fit 12×12s in them) and are on wheels too (they can lock too) and to stop ds2 pushing the drawers out I can turn them around to face the wall! LOL!

As some of you know we are in a 2BR unit, so space is at a premium, these make it easy to wheel them into the bedroom if we need the space or to have them parked at my workbench (aka kitchen bench!) for when I’m getting crafty! And…. they match the SU! Forget Me Not Keepers! How funny! I bought the keeper after the first trolley and as I put it together I laughed and wen straight away to put it ontop of the trolley! Of course DH then asked if it came as a bonus with the trolley, so it must be a good match – wonder if he’d fall for it if I ordered a few more keepers?!!
So there you go, that is my mobile workstation….of course I didn’t take a picture of the messy workbench behind me, did I! No need for you to see that mess!! Have a good night! K

Okay, so it’s Pretty in Pink, not Regal Rose, but it’s still pink! This is another card from my class last weekend. We used the brushless watercolouring technique here and if I do say so myself, I think it’s quite pretty!

I also showed everyone how to ink up the background stamp (En Francais) with the brayer and then use the brayer again to ensure you achieved a good print (Thanks Jayne!). We used Pretty in Pink ink on the same cardstock along with Ballet Blue and Old Olive markers on the Watercolour Paper. A little bit of paper piercing using the template and then 3 pretty in pink brads and some Bashful Blue grosgrain to finish it off. The watercolour paper is also popped up on some Stampin’ Dimensionals to make it stand out.
Thanks for visiting!

BTW I LOVE my new background stamp – hope you’re all prepared to see more of it!! LOL!

Today I had a lovely afternoon – not only is my house clean and tidy, but I had company to stamp and craft this afternoon! I held a Watercolouring Technique class and we made 4 cards , using a variety of watercolouring techniques. I’ll share the cards with you over the coming days, tonight I have picked the Pop-up card. This type of card was admired by Wendy several months ago and her persistencein asking me when I was going to have a class to show how to make it paid off! My original card I made during an Inklings Cyberchallenge night and I followed directions from Lori’s Blog but the one we made today I tweaked a little, to suit my own needs.

We stamped the image and sentiments in Black Stazon on Whisper White card and used Wild Wasabi and Groovy Guava inks to colour them. We then used Wild Wasabi (decorated with scrolls from the ‘Scribble This’ set in Wild Wasabi ink) and Groovy Guava card and stuck it all together with Sticky Strip. It is actually REALLY simple and so effective too! You can write yoru message on the back of the upright piece and it wil fold flat to go in an envelope for posting – sorry, didn’t think to take a picture of it flat!
Thanks for coming today, girls! Hope you enjoyed it – special thankyou to Alison, I’m glad there was a chance for you to visit and relax this weekend! It was lovely to see you all!
Hope you all had a good weekend! Bye! K

Okay, I promised I’d be back to share my Make’n'Take project from Wednesday night – here it is!

It is so cute and I love the ‘Like it a latte’ set! I have used Kraft and Choc Chip card with Choc Chip and Whisper White ink. We used the Slit punch to create the ticket corner on the stamped piece on the front and then to create the little tab for the front of the card to tuck into – thus holding the yummy latte sachet inside for the lucky receiver! wouldn’t this be a great fete idea or thankyou to teacher/coach/babysitter? I have also made a couple of these in different sizes and to adapt them for teabags or other sachet I just make sure that the width of the front piece of my card is the same as the sachet, then I make the back section of the card that width PLUS 3/4″ – 3/4″ is the depth that the slit punch goes to when pushed all the way in, if you don’t push it all the way in, then you can add less to the measurement for the back of the card.
Hope you have fun playing with this project too! Night! K

- in two ways!!! Firstly – we are getting some rain in SA, though it’s probably still not enough or in the right areas, but it is nice for the garden. Secondly, I have a watercolouring class this weekend. I have been having fun designing the cards for us to make and I hope the girls are looking forward to it too! I will post some photos of our projects next week.
I was going to post a picture of a Make’n'Take from my workshop the other night (Hi Marie!) but the camera batteries are flat, so I’ll have to wait until tomorrow. Please come and visit again then to see it! I have taken over 150 photos of computer screens today! We are having a software upgrade at work and we are not sure how much of the protocols we have on there now will be there again after the upgrade, so I was thinking of how to get all that info off quickly and not go blind or insane at the same time!! LOL! Enter my friend and colleague Nicole who suggested taking photos of all the screens I needed! Voila and 2 x 128MB cards later! I have all my records – too bad I won’t be able to re-enter all that info as easily!!!
Thanks for stopping by! Kari

Just wanted to share this cute little card with you! It is only 2.5″ x 2.5″ which is just a bit smaller than the SU! Love Notes. I used Regal Rose cardstock and ink along with some Petals and Paisley DSP and a round Aluminium tag. If you can see on the little bit of card not covered up – I also stamped in Whisper White Craft ink one for the stamps from the Petals and Paisley stampset. The reason I actually made this is because I was playing around with my Slit Punch and making some cards where the front tucks into the back where I punch the slit. (sorry the picture is a little blurry)

So, what do you think? Cute or Corny?!
I have also use my Circle of Friendship Stamp set wihich is the one available in the eScape bundle. The eScape offer ends at the end of June, so don’t wait too long to place your order or you may miss out!!!
Cheers! K

Thought I’d share with you my attempt at Beate’s Weekend Sketch Challenge #52. I’ve used Certainly Celery (an oldie but a goodie!!) with Pretty in Pink, Whisper White and some more of that gorgeous Petals and Paisley DSP. The stamp is from the Simply Said set and I’ve stamped it in Pretty in Pink then sponged a little of the Pretty in Pink ink around the edges of the card. I had some brads out (pink) to attach as well, but then couldn’t decide where to put them, so Iwent for paper piercing instead. If I hadn’t already attached the stamped piece of card I would attach it with dimensionals, but it’s too late to go back now!!

Hope you are enjoying my pink and green week – they seem to be the colours I am reaching for at the moment! Cheers!
