….until the Spring Mini is released! I can’t wait to share some of my creations with you and I am getting lots of inspiration from other Inklings, so I will have to draw upon all that too in my creations! Stay tuned for lots of new ideas and inspiration as I play with my new stamps!
This is another card I made at my Technique Class last week, the technique used for this card is dyeing your own dazzling diamonds! I dyed them Purely Pomegranate and used my 2way glue pen to apply them to the spots on the Bundle of Joy Giraffe (the rest of him is watercoloured with Pretty in Pink) and along the left hand side I applied mini glue dots and stuck the dazzling diamonds to them!

This is also the little card I am sending to a new arrival – 5 weeks early mind you! Welcome to the world, Charlotte Mara! I hope you like this little giraffe and I know your parents have decorated yoru room with a jungle safari theme, so I think he will fit in – maybe except for being pink?!! LOL!

When I asked my Dad what he was after for my birthday, he had to think about it, and then after a few days, the best suggestion he could give me was money for a new jacket to wear whilst playing golf! So, if I thought if I was giving money, I may as well give it in a nice card!

I have stuck a piece of card to the inside of the back cover of the card, creating a pocket into which I slid the money and to make it easier to get it out I punched a semi-circle with my 1″ circle punch (you can see this in the second picture). I have used Night of Navy card and ink, plus Whisper White card, Wild Wasabi striped ribbon (sneaked in my colour of the month!!) and some Versamark ink – this is hard to see in the photo, but I rolled my Rough Texture Jumbo Wheel along the lower half of the front using the Versamark. I also used my Crop-a-dile and Mat Pack to create the row of dry embossed dots along the top edge. Big thankyou to Sue for demo-ing this method on her blog!
And now, drum roll……. can you see something new, pretty and shiny on the card?!!!! Yep it’s silver Hodge Podge!!! How cool does that look! This will be available from the first of August in the Spring Mini Catalogue! If you would like your very own mini catalogue to drool over please let me know – I will be posting them out this week!

How cute is this?! Okay, I admit I am biased a little, but I was pretty pleased with how this card turned out!

There are two new things I have tried when making this card! I have stamped on the narrow twill tape here in Chocolate Chip ink and stapled it onto the cardfront and I applied Crystal Effects to the circle I punched from some Real Red cardstock to give it a raised and glossy appearance. For the base of the cupcake I ran a square of Chocolate Chip card through my crimper and then trimmed the sides to an angle and I used a scallop punched circle trimmed to leave just over half for the top! There are also 3 cupcakes stamped down the left hand side in versamark using a stamp from the All Year Fun stamp set.
Now I’m off to make a card for my Dad’s birthday – it’s tomorrow! Eek! Nothing like leaving it until the last minute – and I’d give him this one but I like it too much!! Night all! K

Yep, I finally bought my very own Pretties kit!!! Yay! It is so lovely and has lots of pretty flowers, and beads, and pearls, and brads, and pins!!! Can you tell I like it?! LOL! Here is the first card I made with my new Kit……

I have used Pale Plum cardstock and some Le Jardin DSP along with a length of Chocolate Chip wide Grosgrain for the card. I have also stamped ‘thanks’ from the Much Appreciated stamp set in Versamark on the top right hand corner – I just wanted this to be subtle on there, not standing out which it would have if I’d used Perfect Plum or Choclate Chip ink which were my other two options. I have used my aquapainter and some Perfect Plum ink to colour my beautiful big flower fromt eh Pretties Kit lightly and once it was dry I threaded some of the gorgeous beads and pearls onto the hatpin, through the ribbon, then into the flower. To arrange the flower the way I have it, I actually have it folded into quarters and I pushed the pin into it so that the ‘cap’ of the pin is in the middle of the flower, kind of like a stamen.
Hope you like it and thanks for visiting! K

Okay, this may not meet some people’s expectation of a wild and groovy card, but I have used my colour of the month Wild Wasabi and Groovy Guava along with some Whisper White to make this card. The stamps used are En Francais (for the background) and Oh So Lovely (a Level 1 hostess set) and of course this is a lovely stamp to watercolour!

I just wanted to remind you of my ribbon club, there are still a couple of places left so let me know ASAP if you would like to join in the club purchase of these gorgeous ribbons.

I have been very lucky in the last couple of weeks and despite my absence over the weekend, I have received a couple of special emails from some fellow stampers! Here is my news…
Kylie sent me the Arte Y Pico Award for my blog! Aww, thanks hon! Considering how much inspiration I get from Kylie I should be handing it back!
However, the rules of the Award say that I should pass it on to another person whose blog/website I think is worthy and that is no mean feat! I would like to give this award to Beth for her beautiful ‘Bethinking’ Blog and also in admiration of how she manages to do so much in her day with her family to organise as well!! I’m in awe!

I am also humbled to recieve a Brilliante Weblog Award from both Lin Mei and Alana! Thanks so much – it’s so inspiring visiting your blogs too! So who to pass this Award on to……. Dani! I know that Dani was unsure about starting a blog at first, but I think it is fabulous and am so glad that she did it!

Thanks girls! It’s so hard to pick a couple that have not already been awarded these, but I hope some of you add their blogs to your favourites list too! This is yet another thing I love about the new things I have been introduced to since joining SU! last year – the friendship and support by these lovely girls who may be quite a few kms away from me geographically, but we enjoy all our crafting together!
Cheers! K

Hi all! Have you missed me?! LOL! I have been having a few computer issues and now have a new hard drive, so that should make it all run a little smoother, thankfully. Things have also been backed up over the last couple of days, so that is one job I am glad is done – expecially with all the photos that currently reside on the hard drive! I must get mself better organised to back up more regularly.
Anyway, sorry, no photos for you tonight – but I did get a few things done while the computer was out of action so I’ll get them sorted and ready to upload tomorrow! ‘Night! K

Okay, I know that this is not how the Egyptians did it….but here is my pyramid box out of acetate! I loved Kylie’s so much that I wanted to try it myself and and really is as simple as printing out the template onto the acetate, cutting it out, scoring four lines and punching four holes!! All right, so I did add some Jersey Shore DSP to the sides and used eyelets in the holes (had to use my cropadile again! yay!) but it is very quick and easy – stop laughing now Kylie!! She knows that I printed it and left it sitting on my printer for 2 days before actually getting organised enough to make it!!
If you would like more details on how to make the box and a link to the template please see this post.

I have used my wonderful punches, jumbo eyelets, pumpkin pie grosgrain and cropadile to create the tag along with the Circle of Friendship stamp set and pumpkin pie ink.
I’d love to see any pyramids you make using the template, feel free to email me a picture!!!

I know, I know, I have been a little remiss in announcing my colour of the month for July – it is Wild Wasabi! I have been busy making a few items with it and will be sharing them over the rets of the month. Here is the first one…..

I have combined Wild Wasabi with Whisper White and Purely Pomegranate here. I have to say, I really love this combination. It seems so fresh and crisp together. I stamped the floral Boho Backgrounds stamp on the whisper White in Black Stazon, then used my inkpads and aquapainter to colour the flowers and leaves, befoe mounting this onto some Purely Pomegranate card. To make the scalloped edge on the Whisper White card I used my Slit Punch (wow, I am getting good use out of that lately!) and then I stamped the same floral background stamp on the piece of Wild Wasabi card using my versamark mark to create a watermark finish. Now this is all finishe doff with some double stitched Purely Pomegranate ribbon and a flower and half pearl from the Pretties Kit. I coloured the flower using my Purely Pomegranate ink and my aquapainter (that aquapainter is very handy!!).
Hope you like it!! Thanks for visiting!
