Cashcard!

When I asked my Dad what he was after for my birthday, he had to think about it, and then after a few days, the best suggestion he could give me was money for a new jacket to wear whilst playing golf! So, if I thought if I was giving money, I may as well give it in a nice card!

I have stuck a piece of card to the inside of the back cover of the card, creating a pocket into which I slid the money and to make it easier to get it out I punched a semi-circle with my 1″ circle punch (you can see this in the second picture). I have used Night of Navy card and ink, plus Whisper White card, Wild Wasabi striped ribbon (sneaked in my colour of the month!!) and some Versamark ink – this is hard to see in the photo, but I rolled my Rough Texture Jumbo Wheel along the lower half of the front using the Versamark. I also used my Crop-a-dile and Mat Pack to create the row of dry embossed dots along the top edge. Big thankyou to Sue for demo-ing this method on her blog!

And now, drum roll……. can you see something new, pretty and shiny on the card?!!!! Yep it’s silver Hodge Podge!!! How cool does that look! This will be available from the first of August in the Spring Mini Catalogue! If you would like your very own mini catalogue to drool over please let me know – I will be posting them out this week!

Well, you’ve just seen a pic of my ‘baby’ with his missing teeth, here he is in a photo at 2 weeks of age! I posted this photo a couple of weeks ago, but wanted to share my finished layout for a 6×6 page swap some of the Inklings took part in. All the pages were gorgeous and they featured our babies quite prominently – of the 2 and 4 legged varieties !! 😉

Here I have used Kraft and Chocolate chip card and Chocolate Chip ink with the Bundle of Joy stamp set. On the little pull out tag I stamped the announcement stamp from the set so all his details could be filled in – I needed a Choc Chip marker for that, so it’s blank ATM. I used my fantabulous Crop-a-diel to set the jumbo eyelet and then a little bit of chocolate chip ribbon to finish off.

Thanks for visiting and also for the well wishes for Aidan – he surprisingly seems to have a bigger appetite than normal at the moment, but I think it is due to the fact that he wants to play with the way the food feels in his mouth without that tooth there! Oh well! At least he’s happy! 🙂 K

Some photos at last!

Hi! Hope you are having a good week so far. Mine is a little so-so, but I’m in a good mood tonight – helps that I’m playing with my paper and rubber!!! I have also finally been taking photos of my ‘heap of scraps’ projects – I seem to have actually made more scraps!! Don’t know how, probably best not to think about it too hard! Anyways, I’ll be sharing them over the next few days.

This card and the bagalope next to it are decorated with papers from the Pallette’O’Prints pad. Would you believe this is actually my first ever bagalope!! It is VERY easy to make, check out Splitcoast Stampers or lots of other blogs for instructions. I have decorated it with a Dahlia fold embellishment which is made up of 8 punched circles all folded and attached to a circle of cardstock behing. I also added a little circle to the centre to hide my untidy joins!! 😀 The card is such a simple little one, a strip of patterned paper, a piece of gorgeous wide grosgrain and then a little sentiment stamp just to finish it off! Colours are Pretty in Pink, Certainly Celery and Very Vanilla.

Last but not least is another Colour of the Month card! No, I hadn’t forgotten! I just keep picking up other colours first!!! This card showcases Blue Bayou with Real Red and Whisper White – and just a hint of Soft Sky behind the stamped image. I stamped the greeting from the ‘For a Friend’ Hostess set on Whisper White with black Stazon and then used my trusty aquapainter to colour the heart with red ink. Easy as falling of a bike! The stamped pattern along the bottom edge of the card is the Rough Texture jumbo wheel – fantastic just to create a bit of texture without adding mulitple layers.

What do you think? Could I hide this one away for hubby for next year’s Valentine’s Day?! No, I think I’ll save it for a day when he’s not expecting it and pop it under his pillow!

That’s all for tonight, check back in on me soon and I’ll have some more for you! Also – suggestions for next months Colour of the Month are welcome – I’ll be ordering my cardstock at the end of the week and am having trouble choosing! I would hate for it to come down to me ordering the ENTIRE range so I had a bit of everything available to me!!! 😉 Nope, I think I’ll have to get out my paper piercer and open to the colour page at the front of the catalogue!!! Ouch! 🙂
